ABOUT THE VENUE
Brest Rowing Course is situated in the centre of Brest, 3 km from the Polish border. In 2004-2007 the Rowing Course was reconstructed, administrative and sport buildings were erected.
Renewed Brest Rowing Course, which is an ultra-modern and multifunctional sport entertainment complex, was solemnly opened 25 May 2007.
The construction and the equipment of the newly opened Centre allow to run training sessions all-the-year-round for professional sportsmen as well as for the beginners.
The unique range of sports facilities meet all international standards. That was the reason for choosing this area as the main training base of the national rowing team.
The Racing Course has the length of 2274m (competitive distance 2000m, start zone 50m, running down distance 210m) and width of 162m.
The water area of the Course is surrouned by a 5km roller road.
The Rowing Course includes separate water area for warming up and cooling down.
Among number of international regattas the Brest Rowing Course hosted 2009 European Championships and 2010 World Rowing Under 23 Championships
